Criteria and Process
A student of the month program provides students with recognition and a sense of accomplishment. Each month students or staff at
any FVTC campus may nominate a student to be awarded the title of
Student of the Month by Student Government. Nominations may be made by
emailing
sga@fvtc.edu, Attn: President or dropping off a letter of recommendation in Student Life. Nominations are due by the 5th of each
month. Please include the person being nominated and the reason that they are being nominated. The Student Government Executive Board will
review each candidate and choose a student that exemplifies Fox Valley Technical College through various ways.
The following is a list of criteria for
Student of the Month:
- Willingness to go the extra mile to help other students or the community.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Positive outlook toward learning
- Contributes through various campus or community activities
- Upholds FVTC’s student code of conduct
- Displays school spirit
- Displays leadership skills
Students may only be selected as
Student of the Month once per academic year. Students need to be nominated monthly. The SGA board
cannot nominate any student unless no student was nominated for that given month.
The
Student of the Month will be awarded a certificate, a gift card to Connections Café, and will have their picture posted on the FVTC website
and in the Fox Times publication. At the end of the academic year each
Student of the Month will be invited to the SGA banquet for group recognition
and picture. The SGA Secretary will contact the nominator and winner nominee to notify of the award.
